Since the beginning of its evolution, mankind has almost always
managed to use the most effectual instruments to get to his aim.
During the last few centuries, the progress of science and technology
has impressively reached important targets that have implemented
the management of the available resources.
Considering that, as confirmed by general behaviour,
human society shows no
sign of drawing back in the usage of the new technologies and
that, notwithstanding some policies of birth control, the total
number of human beings is destined to grow;
Taking into consideraton that the negative aspects
of technical and technological progress, such as pollution and
practical and theoretical errors, are constantly and regularly
reduced in number although, due to the growth of emerging countries
and to local stratification in the course of years, increased
in volume;
Relaying on the fact, so far confirmed, that
only scientific progress can help overcome the imperfections,
deficiencies and errors of the past (confirmed by the evident
difference of the standard in the countries of advanced technology
in comparison with that of the so-called third and fourth world);
Aware of the fact that the eternal and fundamental
problems of humankind will not find a solution in the near future
but also that it is possible to make a step in the direction of
a more acceptable daily life;
Refusing the paralyzing arguments of those ecological
organizations that disseminate an aprioristic NO in the name of
an imaginary sustainable growth sometimes based on anti-scientific
and anti-economical concepts usually ideologically and emotively
influenced;
Remarking with disappointment that - due to apathy
and ignorance more than
conscious choice or knowledge - scientific methodology as well
as rational intuition are too often placed at the same level as
religious beliefs and New-age hallucinations
We are persuaded that it is necessary to urgently organize
a movement opposing the various and different "ecological
moralism" and the darkening choices affecting scientific
and medical research, promoting Scientific and Technical knowledge
at all levels by choosing instruments of public and political
pressure in order to give full evidence to the natural faculties
of mankind to modify, beyond any prejudice, man and his surroundings,
using all the instruments functional to the evolution of a society
based on the use of Reason.
